Fresh Call for Unity
Leader: Britain Holds Record of Dividing Muslims
TEHRAN, Aug. 19--Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called for promotion of teachings of the infallible household of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In a meeting with foreign dignitaries attending the Fourth Conference of Ahl-ul-Bayt World Assembly, Ayatollah Khamenei called for studying the realities and exigencies of the Muslim world, IRNA reported.

Referring to UK’s record in creating rifts among Islamic sects, the leader opined that the arrogant world powers consider Muslim unity as very dangerous and worrying.
“In addition to Britain, the US and Zionist intelligence services are doing their best to prevent Muslims from consolidating unity,“ he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei also noted that promotion of Islam throughout the world, especially after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, has made the arrogant world powers sow discord between Iran and other Muslim states.

“Another serious concern of world’s big powers is worldwide opposition to foreign domination over Muslim nations,“ he said.

The leader pointed out that promotion of Islamic identity and Muslim vigilance led to Islam’s victory over the unjust and arrogant powers. Ayatollah Khamenei felicitated Muslims worldwide on the auspicious occasion of the lunar month of Sha’ban.

“Islam has been promoted around the world to such an extent that it is not comparable with the past 20 years, despite the propaganda of the West against the Islamic schools of thought,“ he said.

The leader also said science and technology have dramatically advanced in the world as compared with the past 20 years and the US has become weaker, so it does not have the same power and authority it enjoyed 20 years ago.

“The US and its followers have been entangled in a quagmire and they are going down further as time passes and a gloomy prospect is awaiting them,“ he said..
