Watching
the news about the Boston bombing and the Muslim fanatics who
perpetrated the deed, I cannot help reflect on all the nasty attacks
that liberals and progressives and Muslim activists have conducted
against conservatives who have attempted to warn Americans that their
enemies are religious fanatics driven by an apocalyptic hatred of us
because we are Jews, Christians, atheists, democrats – in a word, infidels.
We are a grass roots organization located in both Israel and the United States. Our intention is to be pro-active on behalf of Israel. This means we will identify the topics that need examination, analysis and promotion. Our intention is to write accurately what is going on here in Israel rather than react to the anti-Israel media pieces that comprise most of today's media outlets.

Florida: So-called ‘anti-Shariah’ bill passes House

House lawmakers also approved a measure
that requires that Florida law trump foreign law in family law court.
The bill, HB 351, would apply to all foreign laws, though critics say it
is targeting Islamic law, called Shariah.
Supporters have yet to cite a case where
the change in law is needed. Sponsor Rep. Larry Metz, R-Yalaha, has
described the bill as a preventive measure.
The same bill passed the House last year but not the Senate.
Bombing Suspects Lauded Jihad
While police in and around Boston hunt for 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of the suspectedBoston Marathon bombers, information gathered from various social media outlets indicate that he and his brother, 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, harbored radical Islamic beliefs.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed overnight as police closed in on him and the hunt for Dzhokhar remains active. An MIT security officer was shot and killed in the firefight.
This is believed to be Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's Youtube page. Several of the posts feature radical Islamic rhetoric. In addition, a graphic video about Syria appears on Tsarnaev's page on a Russian version of Facebook. An IPT translation can be seenhere. Among its statements, "Congratulations to you those suffer for, who go through martyrdom of Allah illaha ill Allah."

http://www.defensenews.com/article/20130415/DEFREG/304150019/Turkey-Blocks-NATO-Meeting-Israel ANKARA - Despite a recent, partial thaw in its problematic diplomatic ties with one-time ally Israel, Turkey has declined to agree to a meeting of NATO's Mediterranean Dialogue group, which includes Israel and six Arab countries, Turkish diplomats here said. They said Egypt also declined to convene the group for the first time in five years. A NATO official in Brussels declined to comment. The Mediterranean Dialogue, founded in 2004, is intended to contribute to regional security. Along with Israel and Egypt, the other participating countries are Morocco, Tunisia, Mauritania, Algeria and Jordan. |
"Unreal"
I will not here have comment about
the terrorist attack in Boston and subsequent events at MIT -- even as I am
watching it all closely (actually having relatives in and near Boston myself).
The story is unfolding as I write, and comments now would be
premature.

I recently wrote about Salam
Fayyad's resignation as prime minister of the PA, citing several analysts
who indicated quite clearly what a negative omen this was for Oslo, for "the
peace process," and all the rest. I wondered, as I wrote, how the Obama
administration would respond to this.
Would there be sufficient
comprehension of the implications of the situation so that attempts to push
"peace" would be put on a back burner?
Well, I have my answer now.
How foolish I was to even ponder such a question.
Salam Fayyad and the "Major Blow" to Peace
Khaled Abu Toameh
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas never consulted with Fayyad about the peace process with Israel. Over the past five years, the two men hardly even spoken to one other.
After Fayyad's resignation last Saturday, many Western journalists and political analysts rushed to describe the move as a "major blow to the Middle East peace process and US efforts to revive the stalled peace talks between the Palestinian Authority and Israel."
The claim that Fayyad's resignation is a major blow to the peace process is not only untrue, it is ridiculous. These claims are intended to create the impression, totally false, that were it not for Fayyad's resignation, the peace process would have been salvaged. The truth is that Abbas was the one who decided to boycott the peace talks until Israel met his conditions. How can Salam Fayyad's resignation as Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority be considered a setback for the peace process when he had never been involved in the negotiations with Israel in the first place?

Einstein’s Never Before Seen Israel Independence Day Speech Revealed
http://www.algemeiner.com/2013/04/17/einsteins-never-before-seen-israel-independence-day-speech-revealed/
A newly published document from the Israel State Archive and the Albert Einstein Archive at Hebrew University offers insight into famed physicist Albert Einstein ‘s view of Israel and the Middle East.
The document is of a speech Einstein was to give on Israel’s Independence Day, 1955. Written in conjunction with the Israeli consulate and Ambassador Abba Eban, its contents never reached the ears of Einstein’s intended audience: the American people. He died only days before it was to be delivered on ABC, NBC and CBS.
“This is the seventh anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel,” Einstein opened. “The establishment of this State was internationally approved and recognised largely for the purpose of rescuing the remnant of the Jewish people from unspeakable horrors of persecution and oppression.”

MY SAY: BOSTON AND ISRAEL
Ruth King
I share the outrage of every American citizen with regard to the terrorism in Boston. We don’t know who did it…what group or lunatic or sleeper cell….let the FBI and CIA do the work and investigation.
I think of Israel whose towns and citizens have been subject to this type of carnage every single year of its 65 year history. Rockets from Gaza, bombs in buses, cafeterias, markets, hotels, celebrations…..endless terrorism.
Now, when the murderers who are responsible for the deadly explosions in Boston are apprehended, will anyone dare suggest that they get an independent state in the heartland of Massachusetts?
Just asking…..rsk

Obama Draws Criticism for Thatcher Funeral Snub
Politico catalogued negative comments from a variety of sources.
A New York Post editorial was unimpressed with the U.S. delegation, headed by former secretaries of state George Schultz and James Baker.
“As the world bids farewell to Lady Margaret Thatcher today, it’s hard not to notice that America’s official presence at the state funeral for England’s most significant prime minister since Winston Churchill will be underwhelming,” the Post editorial read.

Margaret Thatcher was a friend of the
Jews going back to when she was a girl. AISH
When Margaret
Thatcher passed away the tributes began pouring in from all over the
world. Mrs. Thatcher was Britain's first female prime minister, serving
for 11 years starting in 1979. Known as the Iron Lady, she was a strong
Conservative who changed England's perspective on its economic and political
life.
Despite her many
impressive accomplishments, including fighting the Soviet communist regime,
Thatcher said that her proudest moment was when she saved a Jewish teenager
from Austria during the Holocaust.
In 1938, Edith
Muhlbauer, a 17-year-old Jewish girl, sent a letter to Muriel Roberts, Edith's
pen pal and the older sister of Margaret Thatcher, asking if the Roberts
family could help her escape from Austria. The Nazis had started rounding up
Jews from Vienna and Edith knew it was just a matter of time before she would
be among them.
Arab MK: ‘Israel’s independence celebrations are a dance on Palestinian blood’
Missing Peace
Jamal Zahalkeh, an Arab member of the Knesset, yesterday participated in a so called ‘march of return’ during Israel’s Independence Day celebrations. According to the Palestinian daily Al Ayyam over ‘10.000 Palestinians over the Green Line’ (Israeli Arabs) participated in the march in the Haifa area.
Zahalkeh was quoted saying that “Israel’s celebrations are a dance on Palestinian blood”. He furthermore said: the march was a declaration of the Palestinians’ rejection of the false Israeli narrative that there was ‘liberation from colonization” in 1948. He said the opposite happened, one colonization was replaced with a settlement, uprooting kind of colonization instead. “British colonization had authority, but Zionist colonization controls the land after stealing it from its owners and chasing them off of it,”

What happened to the radiation that lasts thousands of years?
HIROSHIMA 1945

However, we know little about the progress

Al-Qaeda Propagandist Called for Attacks on Sports Events (Boston Terror)
Writing in the online magazine of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), Inspire, the terrorist known as Abu Musab al-Suri listed what he called “the most important enemy targets.”
Al-Suri contended that civilians should be targeted “when responding to a brutal practice carried out by America and her allied forces.”
“This is done by targeting human crowds in order to inflict maximum human losses,” he wrote. “This is very easy since there are numerous such targets such as crowded sports arenas, annual social events, large international exhibitions, crowded market-places, skyscrapers, crowded buildings … etc.”
Two New Palestinian Myths
David Singer
Two
new Arab myths have surfaced in the past week to complicate attempts by
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to procure the resumption of the
long-stalled negotiations between Israel and the PLO.
The first myth can be directly attributed to Mustafa Barghouti -- a presidential candidate for the now defunct Palestinian National Authority -- who was roundly defeated by Mahmoud Abbas when elections were last held in January 2005.
Interviewed by Arab American News (AAN), Mr. Barghouti was asked the following question:

The Most Powerful Names in Arab Media
Ronn Torossian
Quite interesting to read the annual ArabianBusiness.com list of the 500 most powerful Arabs in the world – and it is truly amazing how many on the list have an impact on the media world and public perception. There are believed to be over 300 million Arabs worldwide – and their influence naturally spreads quite far.
While Arab wealth is well-renowned due to oil and many other resources, media isn’t an area which has traditionally received much attention as a sphere of Arab influence. Reviewing the Arabian business list, while social media has been credited with helping to spark the Arab spring, influential Arabs have a major impact on traditional media – and it’s going to grow and not go away.

A Warm Embrace: A Lone Soldier’s First Memorial Day Experience in Israel
idfspokesperson
As
a new immigrant from the States, and a new resident of Tel Aviv, I was
prepped for months before my arrival about this vibrant city, its
exuberance so present that it often won’t let me sleep. Yes, this city
is full of excitement, more than I could have ever prepared for. Yet, as
a lone soldier, I found myself counting the days until I would get to
witness this city not on the loudest of nights but on the quietest of
days: Yom HaZikaron, Memorial Day.
On
the eve of Memorial Day, I walked around the center of Tel Aviv,
watching with astoundment as the last of the stores were closing up, as
music was dimming down and as noise was coming to a discreet halt. Sure,
this country may be small, but in a time when it seems the whole world
has surrendered to non-stop distractions, lack of awareness, and this
innate inability to stand still, I can’t help but feel amazed that an
entire country can step away from this eternal rush we’re in to shut
down for one day and mourn together.
Who Can Count the Dust of Jacob
Sultan Knish
"Who can count the dust of Jacob or number the seed of Israel." Numbers 23:10
The sun sets above the hills. The siren cries out and on the busy highways that wend among the hills, the traffic stops, the people stop, and a moment of silence comes to a noisy country. Flags fly at half mast, the torch of remembrance is lit, memorial candles are held in shaking hands and the country's own version of the Flanders Field poppy, the Red Everlasting daisy, dubbed Blood of the Maccabees, adorns lapels. And so begins the Yom Hazikaron, Heroes Remembrance Day, the day of remembrance for fallen soldiers and victims of terror-- Israel's Memorial Day.
What is a memorial day in a country that has always known war and where remembrance means adding the toll of one year's dead and wounded to the scales of history. A country where war never ends, where the sirens may pause but never stop, where each generation grows up knowing that they will have to fight or flee. To stand watch or run away. It is not so much the past that is remembered on this day, but the present and the future. The stillness, a breath in the warm air, before setting out to climb the slopes of tomorrow.

"Caving Not Allowed"
When Jews cave in the
face of threats by radical Muslims or their supporters, it leads to
increased Jewish weakness and more threats. And yet sometimes, Jews
do cave. (In some places in the world Jews have become timid
because they are thoroughly beleaguered -- a small vulnerable minority in a
growing sea of Islamists.) Increasingly, however, does it seem
to be the case in the US, where this must not be permitted to
happen.
What I will describe here
is an incident that many of you may already be aware of. But I cannot
let this day pass without writing about it, and sharing further details of which
you may not be aware.

In an April 6 Guardian piece
Harriet Sherwood described the relentless flurry of hate mail that
Israeli journalist Amira Hass has recently received as a result of an
article advocating the inclusion of occupation resistance as part of the curriculum for Palestinian schools.
According to Hass, Palestinians throwing stones at Israeli soldiers is “an action as well as a metaphor of resistance” and a “…birthright and duty of anyone subject to foreign rule”. As such, it is perfectly reasonable for Palestinian schools to offer “basic classes in resistance”.
